The two-day seminar is recommended for teachers grades 3 -12 interested in integrating new learning experiences and technology in the classroom.
The schedule will include:
- Review of literature on the latest learning sciences research and relevant theoretical frameworks
- Introduction to mobile apps to create compelling learning resources and experiences within and beyond the classroom
- Design thinking as a way to foster creativity and innovation in the learning process
The Keynote on Wednesday evening will present topics on the future of education and demonstrate Virtual Reality projects for education. Participants will have the opportunity to try Virtual Reality headsets.
Wednesday, July 13

11:45 – 12:30 Opening remarks and Introductions
12:30 – 1:10 Teachers as designers: This short lecture will review theory, best practices and examples for creating new learning experiences.
1:10 – 2:10 Speed dating with Apps – Please bring a smartphone and/or tablet and be prepared to install several new apps during the session.
Apps allow students and teachers to create engaging educational projects and illustrate their creativity in multifaceted ways. This high energy day will introduce different apps that will redefine classroom projects. Participants will create a digital project. Be prepared to move and learn in a fast-paced environment.
